Recently, there’s been a lot of chatter among friends about whether Egashira 2:50 will retire. For fans of his unique style and outrageous performances, he’s an irreplaceable figure. I find myself laughing uncontrollably at his comedy, making the thought of retirement hard to imagine.
Incident
with Nagano Mei
In recent events, there was a notable incident involving Nagano Mei. I heard she mentioned that when Egashira approached her, “tears slipped out.” Hearing that left me with a mixed feeling. Egashira has since apologized, and if she has accepted it, I think that’s where the matter ends. As a parent myself, I often find myself wanting to observe their actions from that perspective. Because I love comedy, I am grateful for figures like them who bring joy. After all, laughter is essential.
Future of Egashira
Egashira has recently appeared on Degawa’s motorcycle show and has been quite active on YouTube. I believe this aligns well with his style. It might be more fulfilling for him to engage in activities he enjoys rather than sticking strictly to television. Plus, he has a huge fanbase, so as long as there’s even one person wanting to see him, he likely won’t retire. Seeing him work at his own pace brings me a sense of relief. I often find myself laughing so much while watching his videos that I end up munching on snacks a bit too much. When you laugh too hard, it’s easy to get hungry, right? (laughs)
