Question from a reader:
Why doesn’t Nakai-san do YouTube? It’s strange that he, unlike other SMAP members, hasn’t jumped on the bandwagon. If he were to create bright and fun content, he could definitely attract a solid fan base and increase his view counts. Given that the female victim is also active, it seems like this could be a good opportunity
for him to try something new. I think showcasing his charm on the free platform of YouTube would be a great fit for him, but is there a reason behind his hesitation? Or is he just committed to television?
Nakai-san’s YouTube Absence: What’s the Reason?
Recently, I was discussing Nakai-san’s approach to YouTube with a friend. “I wonder why he doesn’t do it?” we pondered. It’s indeed curious that while other SMAP members enjoy their unique styles on YouTube, Nakai-san remains a bystander. As a comedy lover myself, I often watch skits and stand-up on YouTube. I believe that if Nakai-san’s unique talk style and character were captured on video, it would undoubtedly be entertaining. His sense of humor and personality resonate well with viewers, which could help broaden his fan base. However, as my friend pointed out, the potential for a chaotic comment section is concerning. In this age of social media, both positive and negative reactions are amplified, which can be stressful. I remember feeling disheartened when I saw numerous negative comments on a favorite comedian’s video. Given Nakai-san’s long-standing popularity, he might be fearing failure. I’ve also heard rumors about him using a flip phone, which might indicate some resistance to new technology. I, too, was initially hesitant to switch to a smartphone, and when I first started with social media, I felt embarrassed about being seen.
Where Can Nakai-san’s Charisma Shine?
Regardless of his reasons for not engaging with YouTube, as a fan, I strongly want to support him. Watching his talk segments on television recently reminded me, “He truly possesses a special charm.” His natural demeanor and occasional smiles always bring me comfort. Moreover, in today’s world, YouTube isn’t the only platform for expression, and I thoroughly enjoy his television work as well. I believe the most important thing is that he engages in activities at his own pace and finds joy in what he does. What do you all think? If you have any thoughts or memories about Nakai-san’s potential entry into YouTube, please share them in the comments! I’d love to hear from other fans, and it would be interesting to get various perspectives.
