Reader’s Question:
Do many people dislike NHK and Takashi Tachibana?
Casual Talk About NHK and Takashi Tachibana
Recently, while chatting with friends about comedy, NHK and Takashi Tachibana came up as topics. I realized that the public’s reaction to them is quite divided.
NHK’s Presence
First, when NHK is mentioned, many people say things like “I dislike it” or “the subscription
fee is too high.” Since I became a parent, I’ve been wanting to do something about that subscription fee. Sure, there are programs for kids, but the actual time to watch is limited, which makes me feel like I’m missing out. A friend even said, “NHK is the dog of the Liberal Democratic Party,” leading to political discussions. It’s true that there are complications with the Broadcasting Act, and gaining the trust of the public must be difficult.
Takashi’s Character
As for Takashi Tachibana, he has quite an ambiguous character. Many people know of him, but whether he is liked or not is questionable. Particularly among young women and younger people, he seems to have less support, which I can somewhat understand. Is his approach a bit too extreme? I’ve laughed at his videos before, but sometimes I think, “Isn’t this going a bit too far?” It’s also interesting that Takashi is popular in the Kansai region! Perhaps his style resonates with the unique sense of humor that Kansai people have. In fact, I’ve had friends from Kansai tell me, “Takashi is funny!” which piqued my interest, but there were still parts that made me a bit uncomfortable.
Personal Thoughts
In the end, I realized that their popularity or unpopularity depends on individual perceptions. As someone who enjoys comedy, I hope to see a broader range of humor and characters that everyone can love. If it’s something for kids, I definitely prefer wholesome comedy. So, what does everyone think? If you have opinions or funny episodes about NHK or Takashi Tachibana, please share them in the comments! I’d love to hear different perspectives.
