Who Will Be the Next Prime Minister?
Recently, while having tea at a café with a friend, we started discussing politics. The topic came up, “I wonder who will be the next Prime Minister after Ishiba?” and we couldn’t help but laugh. Despite neither of us being well-versed in
politics, we found ourselves passionately discussing it. My friend remarked, “Maybe Kishida will be a strong candidate?” and I responded, “No, I can’t remember the name, but there’s that young guy—was it Fukuda? I think he has a good chance too!” Of course, we immediately looked it up on our smartphones, only to find completely different names, which made us both burst into laughter. It’s important to keep a relaxed atmosphere while discussing politics, sharing opinions, and sometimes joking around. As I reflected on the conversation, I realized that while we may not know who the next Prime Minister will be, whoever is chosen will bear a significant responsibility to improve the country. There are times when I feel indifferent about politics, but in reality, it closely affects our lives. As our discussion progressed, we shifted to the desserts we were enjoying, and we both chuckled, saying, “We’ve definitely overindulged again.” Looking back, I feel that while political discussions are important, the time spent enjoying delicious food and laughing together is just as valuable. What do you think about who the next Prime Minister will be? If you have any interesting stories about recent politics or fun conversations at cafés, please share them in the comments! Finding common topics in our lives is really enjoyable.
