Watanabe Ana’s Competitive Spirit and Keio University Pride: Exploring the Rivalry with Waseda

Question from a reader:
Kato-san mentioned that Watanabe Ana had a strong competitive spirit and took pride in being a Keio University graduate. Is this true?

Watanabe Ana and the Pride of Keio

Recently, after hearing Kato Koji’s comments, I’ve become curious about Watanabe Nagisa. I’ve been reflecting on whether her strong competitive spirit and pride in being from Keio University are indeed true. It’s well known that the rivalry between Keio and Waseda is quite significant. Whenever I talk with my university friends, the topic of the “Sokeisen” often comes
up.

Memories from University

I have friends from university who graduated from Keio, and it’s clear they take great pride in their alma mater. I remember one time during a drinking party when one of them boasted, “Keio graduates have great job opportunities and a strong network.” It left an impression on me. Listening to him, I realized how remarkable the cohesion and networking among Keio graduates can be. However, I wondered if someone with a strong competitive spirit like Watanabe Ana might have strained relationships with those around her. If there are stories of her treating Inoue Ana carelessly, it would be a bit disappointing. While it’s essential to enhance skills as an announcer, I can’t help but think that pride might sometimes take precedence.

Reflecting on My Own Experiences

I also take pride in my own school and experiences in both work and personal life, but I value my relationships with others. This reminds me of a time in college when I went to see a comedy show with a friend. We shared a similar sense of humor, and we couldn’t stop laughing throughout the event. That moment was truly enjoyable. Speaking of which, I’ve been watching more comedy films with my kids lately, which has reinforced my appreciation for laughter. Laughter truly enriches our relationships, doesn’t it?
