Question from a reader:
Are humans really something to be afraid of? When I learn that people like Nakai-san or the former head of the Hyogo Prefecture have hidden sides, it definitely makes me feel uneasy. If their true selves hadn’t been revealed, would they still be living as ordinary people? Was it good that the truth was reported in the
weekly magazines? Or is the one who exposed them to blame?
Humans Are Really Complex, Aren’t They?
Recently, I was chatting with a friend about the hidden sides of people. Using Nakai-san and the former head of the Hyogo Prefecture as examples, I wondered, “Are there really any ordinary people out there?” I tend to feel a bit anxious when I hear such stories. Especially when I think about how someone with a hidden side might be closer than I realize—it sends a chill down my spine. In reality, while the exposés in weekly magazines can be a way to uncover the truth, there are also opinions that blame the ones who expose. We only know the surface of a person; we have no idea what lies beneath. That’s why I find myself pondering whether it was truly beneficial for the truth to come out.
Avoiding the Negative Aspects of the Internet
However, as my friend mentioned, there are many negative aspects to information online. Indeed, when I look at social media, I often come across only negative stories. Recently, I’ve decided to focus on “only looking at fun things!” during my meet-ups with friends, and I’ve been sharing only entertaining videos. Strangely enough, that makes me feel more positive. Moreover, I personally believe in the inherent goodness of people. Just the other day, while playing in the park with my son, I shared a moment of laughter with other parents. When I see small children playing innocently, I can’t help but feel that there is a good side to humanity.
Discoveries in Human Relationships
Reflecting back, I remember staying up late in college, discussing deep topics with friends. As we laughed off our hidden sides and past mistakes, everyone opened up. I realized how important those kinds of conversations are. By understanding each other, I think we can gradually build a sense of security. In conclusion, what do you all think? If you have any interesting stories or thoughts about the hidden sides of humans, please share them in the comments. By learning from each other, we might gain a better understanding of one another.
