Reader’s Question:
I have a question about GeGeGe no Kitaro. My memories from childhood are a bit hazy, but I remember an episode where Kitaro loses to an enemy and ends up being burned in something like an incinerator, leaving only his face. I’ve searched online but can’t find any information
about this episode, and I’m starting to wonder if it really happened. I think I watched the fifth season, so it might be from that time. (Also, I don’t recall reading the manga, probably.) If anyone knows about this episode, I would really appreciate your help!
Remembering GeGeGe no Kitaro: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Ah, GeGeGe no Kitaro! That show has such a special place in my heart, much like a warm cup of tea on a rainy day. I remember watching it as a kid in Osaka, and there were so many bizarre and hilarious moments that I still chuckle about today. The episodes blended comedy and the supernatural in such a unique way, and Kitaro’s antics were always entertaining. So, I stumbled across this intriguing question about an episode where Kitaro gets burned in something like an incinerator, leaving just his face. Can you believe that? I mean, it sounds both terrifying and oddly comical, right? The user, who seems to have watched the fifth season, is feeling a bit lost and wonders if their memory is playing tricks on them. I can totally relate to that! Sometimes, our childhood memories can get all jumbled up, like a mixed bag of snacks. Interestingly enough, another user, who goes by the name of “ユーザー,” chimed in with a suggestion. They believe it might actually be from the fourth season’s movie titled “Yokai Tokkyu Maboroshi no Kisha.” I have to say, that movie had some wild moments! While I can’t recall if Kitaro’s face was all that remained after the fiery ordeal, it certainly stirs up a vivid image in my mind. It’s funny how we can remember the oddest details about a show, yet sometimes the most significant points slip through the cracks. Speaking of memories, I remember one time when I tried to binge-watch a bunch of GeGeGe no Kitaro episodes in one sitting. I was so excited, but I may have overindulged on snacks. By the end of it, I was surrounded by empty wrappers, feeling a bit like Kitaro himself—slightly overwhelmed! And let me tell you, my kids walked in and gave me the most judgmental look. I laughed it off, but it made me realize how much I want to share these nostalgic moments with them. It’s fascinating how shows like GeGeGe no Kitaro not only entertain us but also bring back such vivid memories of our childhood. They remind us of simpler times, where the biggest concern was not getting caught sneaking snacks before dinner! I’d love to hear from you all!
