Question from a reader:
I’ve heard that GACKT is supporting Yamamoto Taro of the Reiwa Shinsengumi. What do you think about his intelligence?
Thoughts on Yamamoto Taro’s Intelligence
Recently, I became intrigued after hearing that GACKT is supporting Yamamoto Taro. When I think about his intelligence, it’s clear that he graduated from one of the top academic high schools in Shiga
Prefecture, so I believe he has a good foundation. While being academically inclined is certainly an indicator of intelligence, I feel that intelligence encompasses much more than just that.
The Difference Between Academic Intelligence and Sensibility
For example, I remember when I was a student brainstorming comedy sketches with my friends. They attended a science-focused school and had the ability to solve math problems quickly, but when it came to comedic talent, I often had the upper hand. That was a moment when I realized that being good at studies and having a rich sense of creativity are separate skills. From what I can see in Yamamoto’s statements and actions as a politician, he possesses not only knowledge but also an understanding of societal movements and the hearts of the people. That’s something that can’t be learned just through studying.
My Memories and Empathy
I have a friend who also graduated from an academic high school, but he often said, “I’m good at studying, but I’m terrible at communication.” One day, when he had to perform on a comedy stage, he was so nervous that he forgot his lines. However, at that moment, the audience erupted in laughter, and he managed to get through it successfully! It just goes to show that laughter has a unique power to connect people. Since becoming a parent, I have been trying to hone my comedic skills by coming up with skits for children. I’m still quite inexperienced, but it’s incredibly rewarding to bring smiles to their faces.
