The Fuji TV Scandal and the Whistleblower’s State of Mind
The recent scandal at Fuji TV has certainly surprised many of us. Hearing various opinions about the whistleblower’s feelings
makes me realize there are so many perspectives on this. When I was watching the news, I found myself wondering, “What is she thinking?” What she might be feeling could be more of a sense of relief than guilt. Perhaps she feels a sense of achievement, as if she is thinking, “I finally said it!” By raising her voice, she may inspire courage in other victims. Considering the case involving Masahiro Nakai, it’s possible that things are unfolding just as she planned, which is a bit surprising to think about.
Courage to Face the Dark Side of the Industry
However, behind her revelation lies the harsh reality of the industry. There are moral and ethical standards at play that are hard for the general public to grasp, and just imagining the thoughts and feelings she must have had in such a situation is heart-wrenching. Hearing behind-the-scenes stories from industry insiders often leaves me astonished, making me feel a sense of fear in a way. Personally, while watching a comedy show with friends, I sometimes laugh so hard that my stomach hurts. But when I think about those facing such serious issues, I realize that I can’t just be laughing all the time. I truly want to express my respect for her courage in coming forward.
