Understanding the Strict Interactions of Aiko’s Supporters: Expectations and Perspectives

Reader’s Question:
Do the people supporting Aiko sometimes interact with her in a strict manner?

On the Strictness of Those Supporting Aiko

Recently, there has been much discussion surrounding Aiko. I’ve taken some time to think about whether the people supporting her sometimes interact with her strictly. First, I can somewhat relate to the opinion that she has few public duties.
It’s truly a challenging position to be in, especially when there are limited opportunities to appear in public while being a subject of significant attention. What we see may only be the surface, but I believe there are many people supporting her behind the scenes. Their strictness may stem from high expectations. To be honest, I’ve started to feel a bit full from the “First Time” series, but I still look forward to watching her growth.

Expectations Behind the Strictness

I feel that the criticism directed at the Akishino family arises from the expectations and ideals held by the public. We, especially Japanese people, have a strong desire for “how things should be.” This gap may lead to criticism. The debate around a female emperor is similar; considering the historical context, there are indeed various opinions, but in the end, it seems to circle back to the question of “who is worthy of being the emperor.”

Aiko’s Symbolic Existence

Aiko’s position is indeed symbolic yet feels somewhat ambiguous. Personally, I believe it’s okay to have differing opinions about the imperial family, but I also feel that the character and dignity expected within that context are important. She may be in a tough situation to meet those expectations. I believe it would be wonderful if, amidst such strictness, there is a warmth of humanity. In our busy lives, it’s essential to have moments where we can laugh with family. Recently, I’ve enjoyed happy times watching comedy movies with my child and laughing together. In conclusion, what do you all think? I would love to hear your opinions or experiences regarding Aiko and the imperial family in the comments! I look forward to discussing this together.
