Question from a reader:
It seems like many people who become popular in the entertainment industry often faced bullying during their school years. They have a different aura compared to us ordinary people, which makes them seem hard to approach. I wonder if that’s why no one could be friends with them. Is this correct?
Bullying and People in the Entertainment
Industry
Recently, while talking with friends, someone mentioned, “It feels like those who succeed in the entertainment industry often faced bullying in school.” I believe many share that impression. However, I have a slightly different perspective.
The Connection Between Successful Individuals’ Aura and Bullying
First of all, entertainers really do possess a captivating aura. Their confident demeanor suggests they have something unique that sets them apart from ordinary people. However, I don’t necessarily think that this aura comes solely from having been bullied. In fact, many of them often possess a strong will to pursue their goals, which may contribute to their charisma. I remember going to a comedy show with friends when I was younger and thinking, “They truly are amazing,” as I watched the performers shine on stage. While they sometimes use their past experiences as material for laughs, I see that as a testament to overcoming adversity.
Friendship and Jealousy During School Years
In reality, when engaging in entertainment activities during school, it’s common for friends to ask, “Why do you leave early?” I recall feeling envious of a friend who would leave earlier than others, even though I had no idea what he was doing. Jealousy tends to surface in such situations. If that friend later achieved great success, I sometimes think it would have been nice to have understood them better back then. Looking back, I wish I had communicated more.
What About Your Experiences?
Reflecting on this topic brought back memories of my own school experiences and the feelings I had. I believe the struggles and complexities of friendships that those in the entertainment industry face resonate with us everyday people as well. So, what do you think? I would love to hear about the challenges you faced in school and your experiences with friendships in the comments! I’m looking forward to having a conversation with you all.
