The Relationship Between Popularity and Centrality
When talking with friends, I was told, “It’s not that they’re popular because they’re at the center; they’re popular because they’re the kind of people who can be in the center.” That makes sense! People who demonstrate leadership often have a charm that attracts others. In fact, many of them are naturally funny or good at energizing the atmosphere. Moreover, in projects like Minecraft PvP, managing hate is crucial, and mental strength is required. Popular Vtubers are often in the spotlight, so they might have the strong mentality to handle criticism. When you think about it this way, it makes sense that they occupy leadership roles.
The Importance of Responsibility
Leaders give instructions, and if something goes wrong, they are the ones who take responsibility, which means they really need a strong mentality. For the members, it’s reassuring to have a trustworthy person as a leader, which likely makes the project more enjoyable. Recently, while watching a Minecraft stream with friends, I found myself laughing out loud at their interactions. Particularly, when one Vtuber said, “Getting hate is part of the job!” I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. It was a moment that made me realize how their humor and individuality make the box project even more entertaining.
