Reader’s Question:
I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about the colored mouse’s voice changing in Chiikawa. Is this such an important issue among Chiikawa fans?
Thoughts on Chiikawa’s Voice Change
I’ve been hearing a lot lately about the change in Hachiware’s voice in Chiikawa. When I first heard about it, I thought, “Wait, what does that mean?” I really love the characters in Chiikawa, especially their unique voices, which are so cute and comforting. A voice change feels a bit like a child growing up, and it makes me feel
a little nostalgic. When you actually compare the higher voice Hachiware used to have, it’s definitely noticeable! There were moments while watching the anime where I thought, “Wait, whose voice is that?” It’s amazing how a small change in voice can alter the impression of a character.
Considering the Behind-the-Scenes of Animation…
Also, since Chiikawa is a short anime, the way it’s filmed all at once might contribute to the sudden change. It’s understandable that fans would discuss it since it seems to have changed so abruptly from the last episode. Personally, when a character’s voice changes in an anime, it does surprise me a bit, but I think I’ll get used to it eventually. After all, a character’s charm isn’t solely based on their voice. I’m the type who doesn’t worry too much about these things, so I enjoy Hachiware’s voice change by thinking, “Ah, they’ve grown up.” I can imagine that being a voice actor is tough and that there are various factors involved.
