Question from readers:
What do you all think about Arashi’s disbandment? Were there very few people who predicted it? Are many people surprised?
Thoughts on Arashi’s Disbandment
Recently, I was discussing Arashi’s disbandment with friends, and various opinions surfaced. Personally, I was shocked by the news, but I had a feeling it might happen at some point. Considering the feelings of
the fans, it’s really a complicated emotion.
Looking Back with Memories
Arashi is a group I’ve been supporting since my middle school days. I still can’t forget the emotions I felt when I first heard “Love so sweet.” I have so many memories of going to karaoke with friends, singing and dancing together. It’s honestly hard to believe that they are disbanding. One of my friends mentioned that they once lined up from the day before to attend an Arashi concert. They loved the atmosphere of enjoying it with others and sharing the excitement afterward. I was invited by a friend once, and the energy that day was incredible! The joy from that experience still lingers in my heart.
The Timing of the Disbandment and Its Impact
I’ve been thinking a lot about the timing of the disbandment. Certainly, if they had disbanded during the hiatus in 2020, it might have felt more straightforward. However, I truly believe it’s disappointing for fans to face a disbandment that feels like a betrayal, especially since so many have been waiting and the sudden announcement resonates deeply. Considering that the Arashi members are now in their 40s, I think a reunion will be difficult. Age affects physical stamina, and many members have families, making it challenging to continue activities as idols. As a fan, I wish for their happiness, which complicates my feelings.
