Recently, I came across news about Ryoko Hirosue, which got me thinking a lot. The issue of the drug test
and what happens if she refuses voluntarily is quite intriguing. While discussing this with my friends, the conversation took a turn that felt almost like a comedy sketch. One of my friends remarked, “If she refuses, the prosecution will get a warrant and force her to take a urine test, right?” I couldn’t help but laugh. “I mean, can you imagine her with her legs in an M shape, held down by medical personnel? It’s like a scene from a movie!” I found myself expanding on that image. Of course, if such a situation were to happen, it wouldn’t be funny at all, but somehow, a comedic image popped into my head.
Which is Better: Voluntary or Forced?
I can understand the viewpoint that taking a voluntary test is certainly more honorable. However, just imagining being forcefully subjected to a urine test brings a sense of fear. I remember having a tense moment during a health check when the nurse told me, “It will hurt!” and I approached it with anxiety. The tension from that moment is something I still can’t forget. Furthermore, the mental burden of taking a test voluntarily versus being forced is entirely different. My friends and I agreed that “it feels much easier to take it voluntarily,” and I felt a bit lighter after that conversation.
