Understanding Infidelity: The Impact on Families and Society

Question from a reader:
I am struggling with the topic of infidelity. Since people like Ishida Junichi, Hino Shohei, Oguri Shun, and Nakamaru Yuichi are involved in infidelity, what is so wrong with it? I don’t think it’s a crime, but what do you all think?

Reflecting on Infidelity

While chatting with friends at a café, the topic of infidelity came
up. Recently, names like Ishida Junichi and Oguri Shun have been mentioned a lot. Seeing such famous people engage in infidelity makes one wonder, “What’s the big deal?” In fact, I’ve had similar discussions with friends in the past. One friend, who doesn’t care about infidelity at all, said, “It’s a family issue; it’s not for others to judge.” Still, there’s a lingering question in the back of my mind: “Is that really okay?”

Family Issues and Societal Perception

It is true that infidelity is not a crime. However, considering the social implications and the impact on those around us, I believe it’s not a straightforward issue. Especially in families with children, I can’t help but consider how it affects the family atmosphere and the emotional state of the children. Recently, while playing with my child, I was asked, “Dad, what’s the most important thing?” and it caught me off guard. I truly believe that family is the most important, and I want to be a trustworthy adult for my child.

Brand and Image

Moreover, when celebrities engage in infidelity, their image often suffers. I enjoy comedy, and sometimes I might turn such topics into a joke. However, when I see them unable to appear in commercials, it reinforces the idea that image is indeed important. We, as ordinary people, might also need to consider how our actions affect those around us.
