Question from a reader:
Tatsuki Ryo mentioned that an earthquake will occur on July 5. Is it really going to happen? I’ve also heard about the possibility of war. If the prediction turns out to be true, it could become a serious situation, and I feel anxious. What do you think?
The Space Between Prediction and Reality
Recently, there has been
a lot of discussion surrounding Tatsuki Ryo’s prediction. Many people might feel anxious about his claim that an earthquake will occur on July 5. Honestly, when I first heard the news, I felt a bit startled too. However, when I take a step back and think about it, predictions are often products of coincidence. In fact, if someone keeps making predictions, they may eventually get one right, which is, in a way, a truth.
Intuition and Reality
Perhaps due to my studies in psychology at university, I tend to be skeptical about concepts like “intuition” and “predictions.” The human brain is adept at recognizing patterns, so it’s possible to accidentally hit the mark by consistently making claims. For instance, even in significant earthquakes like the Great East Japan Earthquake, there are often foreshocks and various signs. Therefore, I feel that citing a specific date, as Tatsuki does, lacks substantial backing. I also experience such anxieties in my daily life. Particularly while working part-time at a judicial scrivener’s office, I encounter various legal information. Sometimes, I hear clients express their worries, and each time, I remind myself, “It’s okay, let’s think calmly.”
Thinking Calmly
In a time when anxiety-inducing information is abundant, especially on the internet, it can be challenging to discern what should be believed. There are moments when I come across alarming content online that shakes my confidence. However, it is during such times that maintaining a calm mindset and the ability to evaluate the truthfulness of information becomes crucial. Even if Tatsuki’s prediction were to come true, it would likely be by chance, and what we can do is focus on leading our daily lives responsibly. There are often signs that indicate the likelihood of earthquakes or war, and I want to ensure that we cherish our everyday lives to notice those signals.
