Recently, I came across the news about Arashi ending their activities, and it left me with a heavy feeling in my chest. Their music and performances were a significant part
of our youth, and I was particularly captivated by Ohno-kun’s unique charm time and again. As I read their recent comments, I could feel the various emotions they were carrying, which struck a deep chord within me.
Changes in Each Member’s Environment
Ohno-kun’s words about wanting to “live freely” resonate deeply. I remember that in my younger years, I also sought freedom and took on various challenges. Especially after becoming a parent, I find myself reflecting more on what “freedom” truly means. Perhaps, as the members of Arashi walk their individual paths, they have come to understand how difficult it is to continue their activities. Additionally, the changes in the Johnny’s Entertainment environment are quite significant. I remember attending an Arashi concert with friends in the past, and the energy and excitement were unforgettable. Considering that such an environment has changed now, I think their decision is somewhat unavoidable.
Age and Physical Considerations
As they approach their 40s, it’s undoubtedly a high hurdle for them to perform at full capacity again. I, too, have recently felt the effects of not exercising enough and find myself tiring quickly even with light activities. Just imagining singing and dancing is exhausting (laughs). Becoming more of a talkative artist like an enka singer might be one option, but my desire to see their performances remains strong.
Reflecting on Memories
I often find myself cooking while listening to Arashi’s songs or dancing with my child. Particularly when I play “Love so sweet,” my child starts dancing along, filling our home with a joyful atmosphere. It’s moments like these that remind me how important their presence has been in our lives.
