Question from Readers:
Which of these artists do you like the most? What songs have left a strong impression on you?
Musical Preferences and Their Backgrounds
Music really showcases individuality. Recently, I had the chance to discuss favorite artists with my friends. As everyone passionately talked about their favorite artists and songs, I couldn’t help but want to share my own
opinions. First off, Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi’s songs are truly unforgettable. Especially “Kanpai,” which played at a friend’s wedding; the emotion of that moment is something I can never forget. Singing together with everyone made me feel like we were one big family. His lyrics resonate with the deep parts of the heart, and every time I listen, it brings back memories. Then there’s Motoharu Sano, who is also fantastic. His song “Someday” perfectly embodies youth. I remember listening to it while cruising with friends during high school. The feeling of the wind in that moment is still vividly etched in my memory. Music isn’t just a melody; it is a collection of memories itself.
Unexpected Discoveries in Taste
On the other hand, Tomoyasu Hotei’s songs don’t quite resonate with me. A friend once said, “His guitar skills are amazing!” but it just didn’t click for me. Conversely, Shogo Hamada’s songs left a lasting impression after just one listen. “Mou Hitotsu no Dooyobi,” in particular, caught my ear during a pivotal moment in life and made me ponder deeply. Music possesses a truly mysterious power. When it connects with our emotions and memories, hearing a particular song at a random moment can warm the heart. Conversely, when a song from an artist I dislike comes on, it can bring down my mood.
