Question from a Reader:
Do you have a favorite pianist?
Talking About My Favorite Pianists
Recently, I received a question from a reader asking, “Do you have a favorite pianist?” The truth is, I absolutely love piano music and have countless favorite pianists. Today, I want to share some particularly memorable ones.
Memorable Concerts
The first pianist I heard live was
Vladimir Ashkenazy. I vividly remember the concert I attended in high school, prompted by a friend’s invitation. His performance of Chopin’s music resonated deeply within me. After the concert, my friend and I reflected on how we had just experienced true music. That day reaffirmed my belief in the power of music.
Unexpected Encounters
One day, while studying law, I had Dan Tai Son’s “Fantaisie Impromptu” playing in the background. It’s a piece I usually wouldn’t listen to, but his touch and tone struck a chord with me, and I found myself unable to focus on my studies. The beauty of the music made me close my eyes and truly listen. I love how encounters with music can lead to new discoveries.
The Challenge of Balance
Recently, I’ve been reading a lot during my breaks from my part-time job at a law firm. Listening to piano music during these times helps clear my mind. However, I often find myself snacking too much, which is a personal dilemma. There’s something blissful about enjoying music while indulging in snacks bought after a concert. Yet, overeating can sometimes leave me feeling uncomfortable, which is my little trouble.
Who Is Your Favorite Pianist?
Now that I’ve shared my favorite pianists, I’m curious about yours. If you have any memorable performances or concerts that stand out to you, I would love to hear about them in the comments. I’m looking forward to sharing the joy of music with all of you!
