Reader’s Question:
I’m from the same generation as Ryoko Hirosue, but I’ve never thought of her as pure. Following the recent car accident, I hope she retires from the entertainment industry. I wasn’t surprised by her arrest; I was just thinking, “Oh, really?” this morning. It seems like Candle-san has really endured. She must be causing a lot of trouble for
those around her. I don’t think adults will come to her aid like they did when she was a teenager. After forcing herself to go to college and dropping out, having a shotgun wedding, two divorces, double infidelity, an accident, and an assault incident involving a nurse… I’ve never seen such a troubled woman before. Will she not retire anymore? She may be good at creating buzz, but…
Thoughts on Ryoko Hirosue
Recently, I’ve been reflecting on various things after seeing news about Ryoko Hirosue. Being of the same generation and having followed her work since childhood gives me a sense of familiarity. Nevertheless, her life has been tumultuous. Each time news of her arrest or troubles surfaces, I find myself thinking, “Here we go again,” rather than being shocked.
Reactions from Others and My Feelings
As mentioned in the readers’ comments, opinions about Hirosue are divided. She certainly debuted as someone who craved the spotlight, but I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to be under the public’s gaze. I work part-time at a judicial scrivener’s office, and amidst the daily hustle, I sometimes feel stressed. Those in her position, who are constantly seen and evaluated by many, must feel an even greater pressure. Considering how she might feel in such a situation makes me sympathize with her a little. Of course, there are criticisms of her actions, but I believe that no one is perfect. During my own college life, I have faced various challenges and sometimes pushed myself too hard. Since unexpected troubles can arise, I can somewhat understand her feelings.
The Presence of Fans and Her Future
Regardless, she has many fans, and it’s likely that their support makes it possible for her to aim for a comeback. Even when my favorite authors or artists occasionally get into trouble, I often want to continue supporting them. People like her, who are in the public eye, face even more scrutiny, making their situations all the more challenging. I’m curious about what choices she will make in the future. Will she retire, or will she return? Those decisions will significantly impact her life.
