Question from a Reader:
Is the Best Mother Award only for famous mothers? Does Hiroko Hirosue have children and is she married?
The Best Mother Award and Hiroko Hirosue
Recently, while chatting with friends, the topic of the “Best Mother Award” came up. My friend questioned whether the mothers who receive the award must be famous. This piqued my interest, so I
decided to look into it. In reality, many of the mothers who win the Best Mother Award are well-known figures. Hiroko Hirosue is one such example. She married at 23 and had a child soon after, but she then went through a divorce. After that, she remarried and had two more children. However, it’s quite ironic that she faced another divorce the year after winning the award, due to a double affair, making her a twice-divorced mother. Observing the lives of other mothers who have received this award, the term “curse of the Best Mother Award” seems to resonate. Many like Kyoko Hasegawa and Yuko Ogura have also gone through divorces, while Maki Goto and Mariko Shinoda have faced infidelity, leading to tumultuous lives.
Hiroko Hirosue’s Current Situation
Currently, Hiroko is divorced and single, and being a twice-divorced mother of three is part of her life story. She won the award in 2022 while married to Jun Candle, but they divorced two years ago. She has two children with her former husband, Jun Candle, and one child with her ex-husband, Taka Hiroko Okazawa. Observing her life journey really makes one reflect on the diverse and challenging nature of marriage and motherhood. As I shared this story with my friend, he remarked, “There must be struggles unique to being a celebrity.” Indeed, they likely face pressures that are different from those of ordinary people. However, I believe the love of a mother is something that everyone can relate to. Through my part-time job at a judicial scrivener’s office, I’ve heard various family stories. Among our clients are mothers who work tirelessly for their children and fathers who confront loneliness. Witnessing their situations makes me feel that while family structures vary greatly, a loving home is the most important thing. What kind of family structure do you have? If you have experiences or memories as a mother, I would love for you to share them in the comments. I hope we can deepen our understanding by sharing our experiences with one another.
