Question from a reader:
Will people like Saito Motohiko and Ishimaru Shinji, who stand against vested interests, ultimately be crushed in the end?
The Fate of Those Who Stand Against Vested Interests
Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot about individuals like Saito Motohiko and Ishimaru Shinji who boldly confront vested interests. While I admire their courage and passion, I can’t help
but feel a little anxious about what fate awaits them.
Television and Public Reaction
While discussing this topic with a friend, he remarked, “They’ll be manipulated by television and ultimately meet their downfall.” His words stuck with me, and I realized just how powerful the influence of television can be. It made me reflect on how much the programs and news we casually consume can shape public opinion. I recalled a past conversation with an old friend who casually followed the crowd, thinking, “If everyone says so, it must be true,” and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the memory. Yet, we definitely want to avoid seeing them crushed. It’s painful to watch them engage in self-destructive behavior while carrying their “bombs” of truth. When trying to effect change, it’s essential to carefully assess where our energy is directed.
My Experience and Emotions
Not long ago, I found myself unexpectedly facing backlash when I expressed my opinion to friends, which sent me into a slight panic. Although we gathered early, the conversation veered completely off course, and I ended up just eating snacks and listening. The tension from that moment and the eventual laughter we shared still linger in my memory. In light of this, standing up against vested interests requires courage, but the attitudes of those who possess that courage may influence those around them, even if just a little. We should also strive to support them in avoiding their own “self-destruction.”
