As mentioned by readers, it’s undeniable that the offers have been flooding in. This year, especially with the MLB season starting in Japan, companies likely thought, “Now is our chance!” Ohtani’s performance is a treasure trove for sponsors. However, I do have some doubts about whether starting a family has influenced these commercial offers. While having a family might align him more with “family-oriented” products, his management team is quite competent, so personal factors might not have as much impact as one would think. I believe Ohtani himself may have a desire to showcase more of who he is to the world. When I see him in commercials, it somehow makes him feel more relatable.
My Memories with Ohtani
As I support Ohtani and watch his successes, I find myself feeling motivated to do my best too. Especially every time he hits a home run, the moments when my family and I cheer, “Yes! Ohtani!” together are truly joyful. Recently, while watching Ohtani’s highlights with my child and explaining, “This guy is amazing,” I noticed my child’s eyes light up in awe. It really feels like a “sport that the whole family can enjoy.” And, a little embarrassing to admit, on game days, I have developed a habit of preparing my favorite snacks to munch on while watching. Sometimes, I prepare so many that I end up eating most of them before the game even starts! These little pleasures seem to strengthen our family bond.
