Questions from Readers:
Recently, I’ve seen reports stating that “the public desires Emperor Aiko.” Is that really the case? I feel that opinions supporting male heirs are more prevalent among those around me, and the desire for Emperor Aiko might be in the minority. In reality, I wonder if this truly represents the opinions of the entire public. What do you
all think?
The Voices Supporting Emperor Aiko and Their Background
There has been an increase in reports regarding Emperor Aiko lately, but it’s still unclear how much support she actually has among the public, and opinions seem divided. In my circle, I often sense that voices supporting male heirs are more common, leading me to believe that the desire for Emperor Aiko is in the minority. But is that truly the case?
Discrepancies with Surrounding Opinions
I personally support Emperor Aiko, but when discussing with friends, I often encounter the opinion that male heirs are preferable, which creates a slight feeling of discomfort for me. Particularly, after watching recent adult press conferences, I find the content often lacking compared to those of Princess Aiko. I believe that consistency in the actions and statements of the imperial family is essential. It’s also true that many people are not particularly interested in the imperial family. There are numerous individuals who may not even be familiar with the term “male heirs.” Among them, I think many hold simple questions such as, “Isn’t it strange that the Emperor’s child cannot become Emperor?” and “Isn’t it odd that a woman cannot become Emperor?”
Princess Aiko’s Growth and Hopes for the Future
Princess Aiko has grown under the guidance of His Majesty the Emperor, and I believe her presence offers hope for Japan’s future. I feel that there is no need to shift to collateral lines, and that Princess Aiko becoming Emperor is a natural progression. Of course, public sentiment can change, and while support for Emperor Aiko may be in the minority now, who knows what it will look like in twenty years? When I watched Prince Hisahito’s press conference, I felt a sense of reassurance. Seeing his admirable demeanor gave me hope for Japan’s future. However, I honestly feel some anxiety regarding the protocol manners of the Akishino couple, and I find myself mixed with expectations and concerns about the future of the imperial family.
I Want to Hear Everyone’s Opinions
Now that I’ve expressed my thoughts, I would love to hear everyone else’s opinions. What do you think about the desire for Emperor Aiko, and how do those around you react? Please share in the comments. I believe that learning about various perspectives will provide me with a deeper understanding. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
