Considering the Pros and Cons of Revealing One’s Face
Recently, a friend asked me, “Does tuki. want to show his face?” Honestly, I was a bit surprised when I heard that. I’ve thought about whether or not to reveal my face, but in the end, I value my privacy and
have chosen to keep it private. Especially while still a minor, there’s often a concern about how others perceive you, and the risks of having your identity exposed can be surprisingly significant.
Balancing the Desire for Approval and Privacy
It’s true that the desire for approval is an instinctive part of being human. I understand the feeling of wanting to be known by many through activities on social media and blogs. However, weighing that against privacy is challenging. tuki. seems to have thought thoroughly about his reasons for not revealing his face, and I feel that respect for that decision is necessary. Recently, while working part-time at a judicial scrivener’s office, a senior colleague mentioned, “Not showing your face can actually be beneficial because it allows people to focus on your opinions and thoughts.” I found that to be quite impactful. Indeed, not showing one’s face may lead to words and thoughts being given more importance.
