In my own experience working at a judicial scrivener’s office, I frequently encounter the complexities of laws and systems. This leads me to think that politics cannot be simple either. Recently, while talking with a friend at a café, the topic of politicians’ popularity came up. My friend remarked, “The national character is really interesting, isn’t it?” Indeed, even when someone is supported with high hopes, if they disappoint in any way, their evaluation can plummet. The somewhat contrarian nature of the public is something that is hard to argue against.
