Roki Sasaki’s MLB Debut Performance Review: How Did He Fare in His First Game?

Reader’s Question:
If you were to rate today’s performance of Roki Sasaki, what score would you give him?

About Roki Sasaki’s Performance

There are various opinions circulating about Roki Sasaki’s performance today. As I watched the game, I found myself on the edge of my seat while observing his pitching. He managed to limit the opposition to just one run over
three innings, which is commendable, but it was a bit disappointing to see him issue consecutive walks.

The Tension of His First MLB Game

Given that this was his first official MLB game, it’s understandable that he felt some tension. I can relate, as I’ve experienced a similar kind of anxiety before my university exams, where it felt like my heart was about to leap out of my chest. So, I can truly empathize with how he felt. Of course, results aren’t everything, but his true value will likely be tested in the upcoming games. On the other hand, I was surprised to see that some baseball analysts rated him a “perfect score.” While it’s impressive for a 23-year-old to serve as a second pitcher for the Dodgers, it does feel a bit like overrating. A friend of mine, who is quite knowledgeable about baseball, watched his pitching and commented, “This is Sasaki’s true ability.” However, personally, I feel a score of around 65 would be more accurate.

Looking Forward to the Next Game

In the next game, I hope to see him reduce the number of walks and demonstrate more stable pitching. I believe that overcoming that tension will lead to an even more developed Roki Sasaki. As I study to become a judicial scrivener, I also aspire to grow in my own way, just like him. Lastly, I’m curious about everyone else’s thoughts. What score would you give him? I would love for you to share your comments. Let’s exchange our impressions and look forward to the next game together.
