Question from a reader:
Tsuji-chan mentioned that she has no memory of raising her first daughter because she was too busy. Do you think she can regain those experiences by raising her fifth child? It’s concerning to think about not having memories of raising her eldest. What does everyone think?
Memories of Parenting and Affection
I recently heard Tsuji-chan talking about
how she doesn’t remember much of her first daughter’s upbringing, and it got me thinking. As someone who is also navigating parenthood, I can completely relate to her feelings. When a child is born, especially in those early days, it’s incredibly hectic, and your mind is always racing. It’s understandable to have little memory of those days due to sleep deprivation and the overwhelming nature of it all.
What Can Be Gained from Raising a Fifth Child
However, whether raising a fifth child will help her regain those experiences is something I can’t definitively say. Personally, through raising each of my children, I’m conscious of cherishing those special moments. For example, the first time a child says “Papa” or the sound of their laughter while playing together—those small moments truly are treasures. Perhaps by raising her fifth child, Tsuji-chan will finally find the emotional space to properly remember those moments. I believe parenting is not just about being busy; it’s also a significant time for building love and memories.
A Little Story from My Parenting Journey
Since the birth of my child, every day has been filled with new discoveries. The other day, we attempted to bake some sweets together, but we mixed too much batter, and we were on the verge of a cupcake explosion! I still can’t forget the look of wonder on my child’s face when they exclaimed, “Wow! Amazing!” Moments like that warm your heart as a parent. There are also times when my child says, “Papa, I want to eat more sweets!” and I respond, “No, that’s not good for you!” only to be met with “But you’re eating them too!” It’s true; I sometimes can’t resist those treats myself. Through parenting, I’ve learned so much from my child as well.
What Are Your Parenting Stories?
In summary, while parenting can be busy, it’s also a wonderful time filled with love and laughter. If you have any funny stories or memorable moments from your parenting journey, please share them! It would be great to support each other by exchanging experiences. I look forward to your comments!
