Reasons Behind the End of Fuji TV’s Waidan Show: A Look at Matsuchan’s Impact and Legacy

Question from a Reader:
Can you tell me the reason why Fuji TV’s “Waidan Show” has ended?

Thoughts on the End of “Waidan Show”

I was a bit surprised to hear that Fuji TV’s “Waidan Show” has ended. It seems that Matsuchan’s absence was a significant factor. His comments always drew attention, and I believe viewers looked forward to his unique
perspectives and humor. I also loved that show, especially Matsuchan’s sharp comebacks and the serious expressions he sometimes displayed. There was an episode where he began to speak earnestly about a social issue, and the atmosphere in the studio shifted dramatically, making me unable to look away. His presence was indeed special. However, after Matsuchan graduated, the opinions of the other commentators unfortunately became indistinguishable from those of typical variety shows. It felt like “Waidan Show” transformed into just another news program without him. I used to watch this show with friends and share the funny moments. Particularly, the scenes where Matsuchan interacted with other commentators often had us in stitches. I still smile when I think back to those hilarious moments.

The Power of Relatable Comedy

Comedy really does have the power to bring people together. Since becoming a parent, I’ve started looking for family-friendly shows that we can enjoy together, and “Waidan Show” was one of those. As my child grows, it becomes important to choose programs that we can enjoy as a family, and characters with humor like Matsuchan’s have certainly helped facilitate conversations within our family. What are some of your favorite comedy shows? If you have any particularly memorable scenes or episodes, I would love to hear about them! I would also appreciate any new recommendations. It would be great to share some enjoyable laughter together!
