Hanshin fans, doesn’t it? However, I was a Giants fan back then, so I had mixed feelings at the time (laughs).
The Excitement of That Era
Just imagining the excitement that filled the streets when Hanshin won in 1985 gives me chills even now. I was in Osaka at the time, and while my friends were shouting, “We did it! Hanshin won!” I was wondering, “Why is everyone so excited?” Looking back, I wish I had soaked in that atmosphere.
Yoshida’s Humor
Yoshida’s words never fail to amaze me. I still chuckle at his remark during Kiyohara’s free agent interview, “I want you to come even if you have to change from vertical stripes to horizontal.” His passion and humor really showcase the charm of characters like him in the baseball world.

I arrived too early and ended up eating too many takoyaki from a nearby vendor, filling up before the game even started (laughs).
