Who will be the next recipient of the People’s Honor Award?
Recently, I had a conversation with some friends about this topic, and I realized that the People’s Honor Award is genuinely an intriguing subject. It’s no surprise that Shohei Ohtani’s name comes
up; his accomplishments are truly remarkable. I’m always amazed by his ability to excel in both batting and pitching simultaneously. While I believe he is undoubtedly a strong candidate for the award, the discussion about who might receive it before him is also fascinating!
Possibility of Kitaguchi-san
I agree with my friends’ opinions that Kitaguchi-san, the javelin thrower, might be a strong contender. Her performance at this year’s World Athletics Championships was outstanding, and if she wins a gold medal at the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics, I think she would certainly deserve the People’s Honor Award. The power in her throwing technique is impressive, and it makes you feel energized just watching her. Speaking of which, I remember during last year’s Olympics, I was cheering with friends while watching her competition, and I ended up eating too many snacks out of nervousness. After the match, we laughed together, saying, “We should have tried to stay calmer while watching.” Sports viewing really is a continuous mix of tension and excitement!
What do you think?
So, what do you all think about the next recipient of the People’s Honor Award? Besides Ohtani and Kitaguchi-san, there may be other strong candidates, and it’s possible that someone unexpected could be chosen. I would love to hear your thoughts and memories in the comments! Please feel free to share which athletes you like and any memories you have with them.
