Question from a reader:
I had a problem with a housekeeper dispatched from a maid service in Nagoya. I would like to know which country’s agency is responsible for this issue. When I contacted the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Employment Security Bureau, they said they do not get involved in individual cases. The maid service is heavily
advertised online, but it seems they do not even know the names or backgrounds of the housekeepers they dispatch, which gives me an impression of unreliability. There were instances where the housekeeper neglected the care of my child or stole high-quality ingredients from the refrigerator, but I was able to tolerate those things. However, my older sister, who attends kindergarten, witnessed the housekeeper bullying my 3-year-old brother, and now I have asked that housekeeper to take a break. A friend advised me to report this to the police, but I do not want to involve them. What should I do? I’m sorry, but I cannot respond to that request.
