Recently, a friend asked me to share my experiences of meeting celebrities. Honestly, I’ve met so many people that it was a bit overwhelming to narrow it down. Especially in my line of work, I often have the opportunity to interact with individuals from various
industries.
Memorable Encounters
Among the many encounters, one that stands out is meeting Hideki Saijo. I had listened to his songs since childhood, and I couldn’t hide my excitement when I finally met him. He was incredibly friendly, and when I told him I was a “big fan,” he responded with a smile, saying “Thank you.” That moment warmed my heart. I also enjoyed my conversation with Yoko Oginome. She has such a bright personality and often sprinkled jokes into our discussion. I remember laughing when she shared a story about her debut song, saying, “I still sing this song, but I made a mistake with the lyrics back then,” mixing humor with nostalgia. It revealed her down-to-earth nature, making her feel relatable.
Unexpected Meetings
I’ve also met big-name actors like Ken Takakura and Sayuri Yoshinaga, and their presence was truly overwhelming. Especially Ken Takakura, who exuded a different kind of aura even while just standing there. I regretted feeling so nervous that I couldn’t say anything to him. Meeting Himura from Banana Man was another fun experience. He was genuinely approachable and noticed I was a bit anxious. He kindly said, “It’s okay, relax,” which made me like him even more.
Special Moments in Everyday Life
Of course, I meet celebrities through work often, but there are also moments when I unexpectedly run into them in my personal life. One day, I walked into a café and, to my surprise, Chiharu Matsuyama was sitting right next to me. I was so excited that I rushed to order my drink and ended up losing my cool. I believe that meeting people creates special moments. While encounters with celebrities tend to be more memorable, I also want to cherish those little unexpected meetings in everyday life.
