Recently, a friend asked me if Masahiro Nakai has ever collaborated with former members of the Sakurazaka or AKB groups. I was curious too and did some research. As expected, Nakai is a talented individual who has worked with a variety of people. One particularly memorable collaboration was with Kaoru Mitsuse in
the drama “ATARU.” At that time, Mitsuse had just joined AKB48 and was gaining a lot of attention. I found it striking how Nakai’s gentle demeanor helped ease Mitsuse’s nerves. It was heartwarming to see her, looking fresh and new, seeking advice from him.
What About Collaborations with Sakurazaka Groups?
However, since 2012, Nakai has shifted from dramas to variety shows and hosting, so it seems he hasn’t collaborated with members from the Sakurazaka groups. Thinking about it, that feels a bit lonely. I can only imagine how lively his witty talk would be when interacting with Sakurazaka members; just picturing it makes me excited. Personally, I sometimes find myself laughing unexpectedly when doing comedy skits with friends, and that atmosphere is truly special. I can’t help but wonder what kind of entertaining interactions we would have seen if Nakai had collaborated with the Sakurazaka members.
