Reader’s Question:
Is there a possibility that Fuji TV’s new announcer, Uegaki Kotaro, might resign? Or is that unlikely?
Considering the Issue of Announcers’ Resignation
Recently, there has been talk about the possibility of Fuji TV’s new announcer, Uegaki Kotaro, resigning. Since he is only in his second year since joining the company, many seem to think that the likelihood of
him leaving is low. I can somewhat relate to that feeling. When I was younger, I often thought, “I guess I’ll just keep doing this job,” despite whatever challenges arose.
The Mindset of New Announcers Amidst Resignations
In recent reports, there was news that Announcer Kishimoto decided to resign in her second year. I was surprised that she would leave so early. I imagine that when there are continuous reports of early resignations in any industry, it can make other newcomers feel anxious. I remember feeling concerned during my student days when I saw friends changing jobs one after another, thinking, “Am I at risk too?” Moreover, while announcers may have a glamorous image, I believe they face significant pressure and stress. Especially for new announcers, the effort to meet expectations can leave them mentally and physically exhausted.
My Own Experience and Emotional Fluctuations
When I first started working, I was determined, thinking, “This is my life choice!” Yet, there were times I wanted to go home early or sought solace in sweets. I often found myself buying too many treats at the convenience store on my way home from work, only to reflect, “Oh, I overdid it again.” If Uegaki ever finds himself contemplating resignation, I hope he can take a moment to enjoy some delicious sweets and reset his feelings. Sometimes, it’s essential to comfort oneself with something sweet.
Share Your Experiences
These are my thoughts on the issue of announcers resigning. What do you think? I encourage you to share your own experiences regarding workplace anxieties, emotional support, or anecdotes about distracting yourself with sweets in the comments. I hope that by sharing our experiences, we can encourage one another, even just a little.
