Thoughts on the Current Entertainment Scene
Lately, when I watch entertainment news, I often feel a heavy heart. Especially with the ongoing news of sexual misconduct, it seems like a safe space for enjoyment is slipping away. As a mom with children, it’s disappointing to see fewer enjoyable entertainment options that I would want to share with them. Recently, while watching TV with a friend, I found myself muttering, “Is this really interesting?” My
friend felt the same way, and our conversation naturally turned into a rant. It seems that with each new scandal, the actual work is less and less appreciated. I believe that we need to address individual issues collectively within the industry.
The Good Side of NHK and Questions About Other Programs
In this context, the only channel I can watch with peace of mind is NHK. Recently, I’ve been watching more educational programs for children, and I’m always impressed by the calm atmosphere and solid content. On the other hand, I often feel uneasy about the language and content of shows on other networks. Particularly, variety shows seem to have seen a decline in the quality of humor. There are fewer moments that make me laugh, and instead, I find myself feeling anxious.
My Small Discoveries and Reflections
These days, with little time to spare, I recently had the chance to have tea with friends, and we found ourselves excitedly discussing these topics. I actually arrived too early and ended up snacking a bit too much while waiting alone at the café. By the time my friend arrived, I was a little embarrassed with a slightly round belly. But even such small mishaps can turn into moments of laughter with friends.
