Question from a reader:
I watched “Sekai Gyoten News” without Nakai-san, and surprisingly, I didn’t feel much discomfort. I started to wonder if Nakai-san was actually unnecessary all along. If that’s the case, wasn’t the high fee a waste?
Thoughts on “Sekai Gyoten News” Without Nakai-san
Recently, I watched “Sekai Gyoten News” without Masahiro Nakai. To be honest, I was a
bit nervous at first. It felt lonely to think that he wasn’t there. However, when I actually watched the show, I realized it surprisingly flowed smoothly without him. The program mainly relies on VTRs, making me reconsider just how important his presence was.
Nakai-san’s Presence
Nakai-san has many fans, and his relationship with Tsurube-san is quite special. I thought the atmosphere of the show would change without him. On the other hand, I was surprised at how smoothly the show progressed. Perhaps his necessity was more about the fans’ feelings than the show itself. Still, Tsurube-san’s expressions seemed somewhat lonely, and I felt that Nakai-san’s presence was indeed significant.
Meaning of the High Fee
I also reflected on the significance of employing someone who commands a high fee. Of course, his character and influence are immeasurable, but it raises the question of whether he was truly essential. Since the show primarily focuses on VTRs, it might be able to stand on its own without Nakai-san. However, I wonder if the comforting feeling of “Nakai-san is here” that viewers had is something that got lost along the way.
Personal Memories
I remember watching “Sekai Gyoten News” with my family when I was younger. Nakai-san’s lively talk made us laugh and sometimes moved us; those moments were precious family time. It’s perhaps because of these memories that his absence feels somewhat sad. So, what do you think? If you have any thoughts or memories about watching “Sekai Gyoten News” without Nakai-san, please share them in the comments. I’d love to hear your feelings and stories!
