Question from a Reader:
My husband is a fan of Rakuten and was watching the game, but honestly, I started to wonder if they really have a chance of winning. What do you think?
Husband’s Rakuten Fandom and the Game’s Outcome
Lately, when I see my husband watching a Rakuten game, I can’t help but question if they really have the
will to win. The recent game (on April 9) was no exception. They continued to use Miyamori as a pitcher and seemed to rely on clearly struggling pitchers, which gave off a sense of lack of momentum. I understand that resting players like Muneyama and Abe is a tough decision, but I wish there was a little more visible desire to “win!” I remember watching a game with friends where I was deeply moved by the players who were so determined to win. The serious expressions on their faces as they chased after the ball during warm-ups were truly professional. In such moments, we spectators naturally get excited and cheer for the players. As the game progresses, the tension builds, and I couldn’t take my eyes off the action until the very end. However, when losses pile up, it’s hard not to feel disheartened as a supporter. It’s a bit sad to see my husband grumbling, “Today was a tough one,” after the game. Conversely, when they win, we can celebrate together, which highlights how important the game’s outcome is.
Expectations for Pitcher Kishi Takayuki
I hope that in the next game, pitcher Kishi Takayuki will hold strong. I definitely want to avoid a three-game losing streak. As the game unfolds, his pitching shines, and when he throws a magnificent strike, the entire stadium erupts in cheers. I believe it’s worth continuing to support the team just to experience those moments. Overindulging in snacks while watching the game is also part of the fun. The combination of beer and popcorn is simply the best. While enjoying the game with friends, I often find myself saying, “One more round!” and before I know it, I’m stuffed. Those little mishaps become cherished memories of the game. What about you, dear readers? How do you enjoy watching sports? I’d love to hear about your moments of victory or your feelings after a loss in the comments. It would be wonderful to share our experiences together.
