Question from a reader:
Is Honda Katsuya left-handed? He appears on “Nami Uraraka ni, Meoto Biyori.”
The Charm of Honda Katsuya and Being Ambidextrous
Recently, a friend brought up the topics of Honda Katsuya’s appearances in “Nami Uraraka ni, Meoto Biyori” and “Spice.” I wanted to learn more about him, so I did some research. I find his performances to be
captivating, as they are as calm as the waves yet can be stormy at times. According to my friend, it seems he is ambidextrous. He uses his right hand for chopsticks and pens, but he throws with his left hand during bowling scenes.
The Skill of Ambidextrous Individuals
What is it really like to be ambidextrous? As a right-handed person, I find myself a bit envious. For instance, as my friend mentioned, being able to differentiate which hand to use for different tasks feels like a special skill. When I go bowling, I often tense up trying to get strikes; imagining Honda throwing skillfully with his left hand seems like so much fun. Speaking of which, I remember a time I went bowling with a friend, and the moment I got a strike, everyone around me clapped. I still can’t forget the feeling of superiority, followed by the embarrassment when I realized it wasn’t my skill but just luck that got me there. We were having a great time laughing together while munching on snacks.
Aspirations for Ambidexterity
As I researched ambidexterity, I realized just how special their skills are. Whether in sports, music, or even daily life, ambidextrous individuals possess many possibilities. Watching them makes me wish I could be more skilled as well. Some of you might know ambidextrous people or have experience using both hands dexterously. If that’s the case, I would love to hear about your experiences and tips. It would be great to share and try out different approaches together.
