It’s understandable that both reporters and editors increase reliability through double-checking. In the past, there were many lawsuits for defamation, which indicates that they approach their work with a considerable amount of caution, suggesting that some level of trust can be placed in them. I once found myself having drinks with friends and starting to wonder, “What’s this person’s background?” I ended up researching information about that person online, which led to discovering some surprisingly interesting stories that had us all laughing. It really emphasizes the importance of digging deep into information.
The Difference Between Speculation and Fact
Still, weekly magazines often mix “speculation” and “facts.” Articles like “That celebrity finally decides to do a nude shoot!?” make you question how much can really be believed… (laughs). Seeing such articles highlights how thorough Bunshun’s reporting can be. Recently, when I took my child out to play, I was chatting with some mom friends, and I noticed that many people easily believe rumors they see online. When I questioned, “Is that really true?” it sparked a lively discussion among us. In that sense, I can understand why people tend to believe things so quickly.
