Reader’s Question:
I have an urgent question about the first chapter of the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie. If there were a scene depicting the moment Zenitsu falls into the Mugen Castle, what do you think it would look like? While there is a scene in the Hashira Training Arc where
he opens his eyes sideways after falling into the Mugen Castle, we don’t actually see the moment of his fall. There is also the option that it might not be included at all, but I have a couple of ideas: 1. The moment Tanjiro and the Hashira fall (as in the original story). 2. Inosuke falls while eating an ebi fry (an original scene). Since there is a moment where Murata falls, it seems unlikely that Zenitsu wouldn’t have a scene as well. I think that since it’s a movie, it won’t be too serious. I imagine it might start from a scene where he is holding his sword tightly, possibly transitioning from a nap. If it’s too serious, it might not fit the original tone and could hurt the image. Maybe it could even be a scene where he is dreaming about Nezuko. What are your thoughts on this?
Imagining Zenitsu’s Fall into Mugen Castle
Oh man, you know how much I love getting into the nitty-gritty of anime scenes! So, when I read your question about Zenitsu falling into Mugen Castle, I couldn’t help but picture it vividly. First off, I completely agree that it would be a missed opportunity if they didn’t include a moment for Zenitsu. He’s such a beloved character, and his reactions always bring that perfect mix of comic relief and heartfelt moments. I can totally see it starting with him, maybe resting with his sword clutched tightly, half-asleep but still aware of what’s happening around him. That classic Zenitsu moment, right? It would be hilarious if he were having a dream about Nezuko just before he takes the plunge. Imagine him mumbling sweet nothings in his sleep, only to suddenly wake up and realize he’s falling into chaos! Now, about your idea of him falling seriously after everything that happened with Kaigaku and Jigoro. I think that would be really impactful too. Zenitsu, in that moment, could be a mix of determination and fear, fully aware of the stakes. It would show his growth, right? He’s usually the cowardly one, but this time he could channel that energy into something serious. I mean, how cool would it be to see him take that leap, not just physically but also as a character? As for Inosuke munching on an ebi fry while falling, I can’t stop laughing at that image! It’d be such a ridiculous and hilarious contrast to the intensity of the situation. I can picture him just casually enjoying his snack, oblivious to the danger around him, and then suddenly realizing he’s plummeting. Classic Inosuke! And hey, it’s a movie, so they can afford to play around with tones. A blend of humor and seriousness might be just what the fans want. I mean, that’s what makes Demon Slayer so special, right? It can make you laugh one moment and then hit you with the feels the next. So, what do you think? Would you prefer a comedic Zenitsu or a serious, determined version? I’d love to hear more of your thoughts or any other scenes you think deserve a spotlight in the movie! Let’s keep this conversation rolling!
