Thoughts on Hiroshi Ikushima’s Possible Return
Hello! Recently, I received a question from a reader about the possibility of Hiroshi Ikushima returning to the field. I’ve thought about it too, and considering his career and current situation, it’s a bit of a complex feeling. First of all, even though Ikushima has stepped down as president, he remains a shareholder of Ikushima Planning. This makes me feel that he still has the desire to stay involved in some
capacity. I remember attending one of his talk events with a friend, and his storytelling skills were truly remarkable. His presence on stage and ability to engage the audience are still vivid in my memory. However, considering his age, I also think there’s no need for him to force himself to return to the field. What often comes to mind when I think of him is that he is nearly 80 years old. Health comes first, and enjoying a leisurely life is also a wonderful choice. Personally, I’m juggling parenting and work, and every day feels a bit chaotic. With kids around, I often find myself pressed for time, which sometimes leads to rushing my actions. For instance, recently, I took my children to the park and arrived way too early, so while we waited for the equipment to open, we ended up munching on snacks. Such little mishaps have now become funny stories. Ikushima might also be finding small joys in his daily life. Engaging in new activities by promoting himself could be part of his charm. I sometimes think that a talk event at a pachinko parlor would be quite enjoyable in the future (laughs). With Ikushima’s playful and humorous personality, it would surely be a lively event.
