Question from a reader:
Is there a possibility that former TBS free announcer, Hiroshi Ikushima, will retire?
Thoughts on Hiroshi Ikushima’s Potential Retirement
Recently, I found myself pondering the possibility of Hiroshi Ikushima’s retirement. He is a former TBS free announcer who has thrived in radio and television for many years. I’ve always loved his voice and conversational style, especially when
listening to his radio programs, which always manage to put me at ease.
Memorable Radio Programs
A few years ago, while doing housework and listening to his radio show, I was particularly struck by an episode where he shared that he had started a “new hobby.” He mentioned that he took up cooking! He joked, “People often think I’m not good at cooking because I’m an announcer, but surprisingly, it’s quite fun!” Hearing him laugh about it made me smile too. It’s this kind of down-to-earth nature that makes him so appealing to listeners.
Looking Forward to His Post-Retirement Activities
The thought of his potential retirement does bring a touch of sadness. However, I believe someone like him will still find a way to present himself to us in some form. Whether it’s writing a memoir or participating in a special program like “Where Are They Now,” I look forward to it. As a fan, hearing his life stories and behind-the-scenes anecdotes would be absolutely delightful!
