Geniuses of the Heisei Era: Inspiring Achievements in Science, Sports, and Arts

Reader’s Question:
Are there any geniuses born in the Heisei era? I want to know what kind of people they are.

Geniuses Born in the Heisei Era

Recently, I was talking with my friends about whether there are any geniuses born in the Heisei era. We’re also from the Heisei generation, but we don’t consider ourselves geniuses (laughs). However, when I
looked into it, I found many truly remarkable individuals!

Geniuses in Science

First, let’s talk about the genius in mathematics, Shinichi Mochizuki. His proof of the ABC conjecture has become a major topic in the world of mathematics. It’s way too complex for me to understand, but his achievements are genuinely impressive. Mathematics often feels like a distant world, but knowing someone like him makes it feel a bit closer.

Stars in Sports

Next, we have the world of sports. Yuzuru Hanyu and Shohei Ohtani are definitely geniuses born in the Heisei era. Hanyu’s figure skating is not only technically impressive, but his expressiveness always moves me. I’ve tried skating before, but I kept falling and was absolutely terrible at it (laughs). As for Ohtani, his “two-way” style is incredibly cool! Back when I played baseball, I used to dream with my friends about being able to throw like Ohtani, but in reality, I couldn’t even hit well at a batting cage… Watching his success makes me realize that we should dream big.

Young Geniuses in Go and Shogi

Then there’s Sota Fujii from the shogi world. His shogi play is said to lead the AI era, being both innovative and fascinating. I play a little shogi myself, and I always wish I could be as smart as Fujii. My problem is that when I play shogi, I tend to snack too much and lose my focus…

Talent in Music and Literature

Finally, in the music world, we have Ayase from YOASOBI and the Akutagawa Prize-winning author Rin Usami. Ayase’s songs always resonate with the heart, and Usami’s works are deep despite her young age, which truly amazes me. I also love music and books, and I often find myself staying up late, but creating influential works like theirs feels incredibly challenging.

Share Your Memories!

With that said, I’ve been thinking a lot about the geniuses born in the Heisei era. Seeing their achievements makes us want to take on challenges ourselves, right? What geniuses do you know? Also, please share your own challenges and memories! I’m looking forward to your comments!
