About My First Trip to Korea
Starting from Tokyo to Incheon Airport
So, there I was, sitting at Narita Airport at 5:30 AM, way too early for my 8:00 AM flight to Incheon. I had this grand idea of being
the “organized traveler” who arrives with plenty of time to spare, but let’s just say I overdid it. I ended up wandering around the terminal, sipping on my third cup of coffee, and debating whether I should buy yet another pack of Kit Kats (spoiler: I did). By the time I boarded the plane, I was buzzing with caffeine and excitement. The flight was smooth, and before I knew it, I was stepping into the bustling Incheon Airport, ready to dive into my Korean adventure.
Places I Want to Visit
My first stop? The Express Bus Terminal. I’d heard so much about the underground shopping mall there—endless rows of trendy clothes, accessories, and shoes at prices that made my wallet happy. I was on a mission to revamp my wardrobe, and this place sounded like heaven. But let’s be real, I also knew I’d probably get distracted by all the cute stationery and random knick-knacks. Priorities, right? Next on my list was a traditional market. I wasn’t set on Gwangjang Market specifically, but I wanted to experience the lively atmosphere, the sizzling sounds of street food, and the intoxicating smells of Korean cuisine. I imagined myself nibbling on tteokbokki, kimchi pancakes, and maybe even braving some live octopus (though I’m not sure I’m that brave yet). And of course, no first trip to Korea would be complete without a visit to Myeongdong. The bright lights, the skincare shops, the street food stalls—it’s like sensory overload in the best way possible.
My Main Goals
My trip had three main goals: 1. Shopping at the Express Bus Terminal: I wanted to leave with at least one new outfit that made me feel like a K-drama star. 2. Exploring a traditional market and trying street food: I was determined to eat my way through Korea, one bite at a time. 3. Visiting Myeongdong: I needed to experience the iconic shopping district and maybe stock up on some sheet masks (because you can never have too many).
Seeking Advice
Now, here’s where I need your help. Since this is my first time in Korea, I’m a bit overwhelmed with planning the best order to visit these places. Should I hit the Express Bus Terminal first, then the market, and save Myeongdong for last? Or is there a better way to organize my itinerary? Also, I’m looking for a convenient hotel location that’s close to public transportation and maybe has a good breakfast spread (because hotel breakfasts are my weakness). If you have any personal recommendations for must-visit spots or hidden gems, I’d love to hear them! This trip is only for two nights and three days, so I want to make the most of every moment. I’m already dreaming of the food, the shopping, and the memories I’ll make. If you’ve been to Korea before, please share your tips, stories, or even your favorite street food snacks in the comments. I’d love to hear about your experiences and maybe even steal a few ideas for my itinerary. Thanks in advance, and wish me luck—I have a feeling this trip is going to be unforgettable!
