Living in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture
Hey there! So, I’ve been living in Nagoya for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the adventure. Nagoya is this perfect blend of modern city vibes and traditional charm—think
towering skyscrapers next to ancient castles. But lately, I’ve been itching to explore beyond my daily routine. With a budget of 50,000 yen and a love for trains (seriously, Japan’s public transport is a dream), I’m ready to hit the road. Or, well, the rails.
Looking for Travel Advice
Here’s the thing: I’m a bit of an over-planner. I’ve already spent hours scrolling through travel blogs, staring at maps, and debating whether I should pack an extra pair of socks (spoiler: I always do). But I’d love to hear from you! If you were in my shoes, where would you go? Where would you stay? I’m all ears for hidden gems, cozy accommodations, and maybe even a few food recommendations because, let’s be real, snacks are half the fun of traveling.
Travel Plans
I’m planning to stick to trains and public transportation—partly because it’s convenient, and partly because I’m low-key obsessed with how efficient and clean everything is. Plus, there’s something magical about watching the scenery change from the window of a train. One time, I took an early morning train to Kyoto (I arrived at the station way too early because I was paranoid about missing it). The sunrise over the rice fields was breathtaking, and I ended up chatting with an elderly couple who shared their homemade onigiri with me. It was one of those moments that made me fall in love with traveling in Japan all over again. This time, I’m thinking of heading to Kanazawa. I’ve heard the Kenrokuen Garden is stunning, and the seafood at Omicho Market is supposed to be next-level. But I’m also tempted by Takayama, with its old-town charm and sake breweries. Decisions, decisions! Oh, and I have a confession: I might have already spent a chunk of my budget on snacks for the trip. Who can resist melon pan, matcha Kit Kats, and those little jelly cups? Not me, apparently.
Let’s Chat!
