Is there any commercial featuring Akina Nakamori? She appears in many variety shows and there are pachinko machines, but I can’t find any information about her commercials and I’m having trouble. Is there anyone who knows?

Recently, while chatting with a friend about Akina Nakamori, the topic of her commercials came up.
My friend said, “You don’t really see her in commercials much, but hasn’t she appeared in quite a few?” This piqued my curiosity, so I decided to look into it. To my surprise, she had appeared in numerous commercials from the 1980s to the 1990s! Among the most memorable are the Kao shampoo and Canon photocopier ads. Akina was incredibly cute back then and definitely a captivating presence. I remember watching her commercials on TV as a child and thinking, “This person is amazing.”

One of my favorites among Akina’s commercials is the Kao “Essential Cuticle Care” ad. The scene where she delicately runs her fingers through her hair is striking, and I think many girls must have admired her in that moment. Also, in the Canon mini-copier commercial, her bright smile was so charming that I couldn’t help but be captivated. While talking with my friend, I couldn’t help but say, “Seeing Akina’s commercials really made me feel energized!” and we reminisced about those times together.
Reflections from the Commercials
Through these commercials, I realized how her charm reached so many people. For example, the commercial song “Hello Mary You” that she sang still lingers in my ears. Her singing and acting were outstanding, reaffirming that she is not just an idol but a top-tier artist. In my own busy life, I sometimes feel the need to take time to reflect on the past.
