Question from a reader:
Can you tell me about your favorite pianist?
A Wonderful Encounter with Pianists
Recently, a friend asked me, “Who is your favorite pianist?” Just thinking about that question excites me. I love piano music and have been influenced by many pianists. In particular, Glenn Gould’s “Goldberg Variations” offers new discoveries no matter how many times I listen
to it. His unique playing style makes my heart leap every time I hear him.
Memorable Concerts
I once attended a concert by Vladimir Ashkenazy. He was performing Chopin’s pieces, and watching his fingers glide over the keys felt like witnessing magic. The audience around me was breathless, and the entire venue was enveloped in his music. That moment is a memory I will never forget. I also enjoy the performances of Krystian Zimerman, especially the depth of his interpretations of Schubert’s works. His music has a mysterious power that touches the depths of the heart.
Musical Moments with My Child
Recently, I’ve particularly enjoyed listening to music with my one-year-old son. I love observing his reactions as I play various pianists’ performances. Although he is still small, seeing him sway to the music fills me with an indescribable sense of happiness. I hope that one day he will find his own favorite pianist.
