Question from a reader:
Devi Fujin has announced the establishment of her new party, the “12 Heiwa Party,” and her candidacy in the upcoming House of Councillors election. It is said to be a party advocating for the protection of dogs and cats. Do you support this party?
Thoughts on Devi Fujin’s New Party
I was surprised and a bit nostalgic to hear the news about Devi Fujin founding the “12 Heiwa Party.” I have seen her unique character on television for a long time, but I never expected her to
dive into the political world! The fact that she is leading a party focused on the protection of dogs and cats is quite unique and very much in line with her personality. As someone who has pets, I am sensitive to topics related to animal welfare. However, to be honest, I don’t particularly feel compelled to support her party. Considering her past statements and actions, I have doubts about how trustworthy her stance as a politician is. Nonetheless, I do appreciate that she is raising her voice in a space where few politicians take animal rights seriously.
Reflecting on Devi Fujin’s Past
As mentioned in the comments, there are various episodes in Devi Fujin’s background. Her Indonesian nationality and stories about her early life were somewhat shocking. The affair with Masahiko Tsugawa felt almost like something out of a drama, which I found interesting. It’s also a bit strange to think about how she has been quite critical of the royal family. I sometimes find myself surprised by her statements on television, so I can’t take my eyes off her opinions. Honestly, I believe her style is divisive, but in an era where interest in politics is waning, having a character like hers can be a stimulating presence.
